Meadows on Ještěd – New Virgin Forest
The area we call the "New Virgin Forest" is located on the southern slopes in the southeastern part of the Ještěd ridge.
Several meadow enclaves of biodiversity importance have survived in the mostly forested southern slopes. However, due to their inaccessibility, they were abandoned and gradually overgrown with shrub and tree infestations or expansive tall stem species.
The meadows "U Proseče", "U Ruiny", "U Posedu" with a total area of over 1 ha are owned by the association and in 2020 were mowed for the first time in a mosaic pattern.
