Globeflower meadow in Babylon and Popelka Valley II
In 2022, we expanded care to additional meadows with an area of 0.5 ha in VKP Babylon and the Popelka valley II in Lomnice nad Popelkou. We started by mowing the meadow with the highest number of globeflowers (Trollius altissimus) in the vicinity of Lomnice nad Popelkou. Globeflowers are found here in abundance, but unfortunately they were in danger of gradually disappearing due to a lack of management.
Part of the site is already being degraded, it has become overgrown with nettles and brambles, and the invasive large-leaved lupine is occasionaly found (Lupinus polyphyllus). It is also found on the slope of the Babylon hill, we also started to mow this meadow with the occurrence of globeflower in 2022.
