VKP Horní Černá Studnice

The waterlogged mountain meadow in the terrain depression in the southwestern vicinity of the quarry of Ligranit a.s. is part of the VKP Horní Černá Studnice.

There is a significant number of protected plants from the orchid family - broad-leaved marsh orchid (Dactylorhiza majalis), whose population numbers hundreds of individuals and during their flowering period it is an exceptional natural aesthetic phenomenon. Other moisture-loving species grow here common cottongrass (Eriophorum angustifolium), Mat-grass (Nardus stricta), Marsh hawk's-beard (Crepis paludosa), marsh violet (Viola palustris), wood horsetail (Equisetum sylvaticum).

The goal is to preserve the exceptionally rich population of the orchid-like broad-leaved marsh orchid and possibly increase the species diversity of the botanically and zoologically important area. Five species of butterflies included in the ČSČR 2017 were spotted here (Melitaea athalia – heath fritillary, Lycaena alciphron – Purple-shot copper, Lycaena virgaureae – Scarce Copper, Polyommatus amandus – the Amanda's blue, Lasiommata maera – the large wall brown), whose prosperity we would also like to support.

We started taking care of meadows with an area of 0.7 in 2021.
